The Gallery houses a small permanent collection of exhibits. We also offer exclusive works of art for sale, including protocol and business gifts as well as promotional and personal gifts – in other words, gifts for all occasions, which we sell with the hope that authentic items related to the history of Slovenia as well as the world’s history will become known and discussed.
OSKAR ANDREJ KOGOJ, who was born on the 23rd of November 1942 in Miren near Gorica, is a world-famous industrial designer, academic and, above all, an artist.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions since 1963 and has had many solo exhibitions since 1970. His works of art are kept in more than 100 museums and permanent collections all over the world. He has exhibited his works in more than 350 exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, and since 1969, he has received more than 50 different international awards and recognitions for his outstanding work.
Oskar Kogoj, a Slovenian design ikon, can create unforgettable shapes through his touch and charisma. His designs do not only go down in the history of design but also touch the souls of those who obtain his creations. He is highly sensitive to the integration of the human soul with the laws of nature, and therefore his ideas are combinations of the transcendental with the material reality. We should not forget that he is deeply committed to Slovenian tradition and open to the world as a whole at the same time. He is a great explorer of the forgotten knowledge of old civilisations, a worshipper of nature and a seeker of the truth. His spirituality is strongly reflected in his work.
Oskar Kogoj’s productions are of high quality and originality and are also profound in terms of the communication of ideas. They contain elements of heritage, and as such, they provide information about Slovenian culture and creativity to people all over the world.
When choosing gifts, we should ask ourselves what message we wish to convey and how well we know the gift recipient to whom we wish to show attention, gratitude, trust and respect. Above all, you should not give a gift only because you received a gift. No matter what kind of gift and who we are giving it to, it will always express our feelings, our culture and our tastes.
The OSKAR KOGOJ NATURE DESIGN gallery is located in the renovated home of Oskar Kogoj’s mother in the village of Miren near Gorica. The formal opening of the gallery took place in October 1998, and the opening ceremony was attended by many famous Slovenian cultural and political figures.

Each room within the Gallery is a different world filled with the wisdom of past cultures and ancient symbolism, just like Kogoj’s works of art. The ONIKS ROOM radiates with the green colour of semi-precious onyx stone that comes from the border region between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. The KITCHEN ROOM has a ceiling that is painted with a bobbin lace pattern, and the MEMORIAL ROOM allows visitors to learn about Oskar Kogoj’s ancestors and a part of his history. All these rooms are filled with Kogoj’s magical, energetic creations, which command admiration and create unique sensations.
In one of the exhibition rooms on the first floor of the Gallery, there is, in addition to various bronze sculptures, a glass wheel of fortune, which consists of a closed system of tubes with pure mercury from Idrija flowing through them. The second exhibition room emits unique energy and divinity as all of its walls are artistically painted with semi-precious stone dust. The wall paintings, which are the work of Slovenian painter Ivo Kisovec, the rainbow ceiling, the details and the designer items, each convey a deeper meaning… This is only a rough outline that cannot tell much about the artist. The room will remain a mystery to you until you have visited it – when you see it with your own eyes, it will leave you amazed and fascinated.
A gift can express your gratitude, affection, attention…and create a memory that will make an important event unforgettable.
We usually give gifts to our loved ones, friends, acquaintances, colleagues and business partners, but sometimes we even give them to top officials at home or abroad.
A gift is one of the key steps towards smoother, better and even more effective communication as well as one’s active engagement with the modern world.
When choosing a gift, we should be careful and keep in mind the recipient’s cultural background and his or her hobbies and interests as well as the situation or occasion on which the gift will be presented to the recipient.
A gift can be something of the highest quality, a great achievement of the human mind, research, innovativeness and creativity. It can be an object enriched with history or, if it is designed by Kogoj, an object enriched with Slovenian cultural heritage and modern creativity, which conveys a message about something Slovenian, something that contributes significantly to making our small country known all around the world.
His items are unique, for they are exclusively hand made. They are all of Slovenian origin, made by Slovenian craftsmen from various materials including glass, porcelain, ceramics, wood, stone, metal, hand-made paper, etc. We could say that each of these materials is a medium through which the artist communicates with the energy of the transcendental.
Kogoj’s items have been given as gifts to many presidents, ministers, members of royal families and other famous persons and have thus acquired a worldwide reputation.
