In the lower Vipava valley, near the border with Italy, we have arranged 6 apartments in the attic of the former mill building. All apartments have the view at 60 m long waterfall that falls over the dam on the river Vipava.
Our accommodations are suitable for those who wish to relax in the calm of nature. The position of our apartments is appropriate for fishermen, for visiting near and more distant places, the proximity of Nova Gorica and it’s casinos is suitable for those who likes nightlife.
In the lower Vipava valley, near the border with Italy, where the river Vipava winds lazily and turns to the confluence with the river Soča, lies the village Orehovlje. In the attic of the former mill building we have arranged six apartments. Building is located near the dam on the river Vipava. All apartments also have a look at 60 m long waterfall that falls over the dam, the pool below the dam and the river Vipava. The building is still preserved mill wheel. Noise of water over the dam operates relaxing. The apartments are of different sizes. Capacity of accommodation is of two bed and four bed apartments.
In addition to accommodation that is suitable for those who wish to relax in tranquil environment with water, we offer advices on fishing, use of outdoor terrace overlooking the waterfall, which falls over the dam, pool and river Vipava below the dam and the mill wheel, guidance to see nearby attrations and sights.
Our place is located at the intersection of three wine regions: Brda, Vipava and Kras, offering a varied selection of quality white and red wines. Karst area is also known for dried meat products as a speciality, where on the first place is certainly Kraški pršut (The Kras ham). Karst landscape still offers many delights for walks, as well as riders come in to their account. On the border of Kras, on Cerje, arises the monument-museum at the Slovenian veterans. Hence there is a beautiful view of the lower Vipava valley and meandering lazy river Vipava. On the hill Mirenski grad over the city Miren, there is a pilgrimage church of Žalostna Mati božja (Mother of Sorrows) from 13. century.
Only 10 km away is Nova Gorica, which is blended with Italian Gorizia in one place. It’s a young city, also known as a city of roses that are planted for a number of parks all over the city. In particular is known for its gambling casinos and entertainment centers at Perla and Park. On the hill above the town there is the Franciscan monastery with the crypt of Bourbons, library of father Stanislav Škrabec and a garden with a collection of roses ”burbonke” that flowers in May and June. The elevation is extended into the forest Panovec. It offers many opportunities for recreation and walk around the subject of learning pathways. 5 km from center of Nova Gorica is castle Kromberk, where is the Provincial museum, botanical park and an amphitheatre for summer events. On the north side of town is Sveta Gora (a Holy Mountain), sacred and pilgrimage center, with a nice view over the surrounding area. In the west, opposite Sveta Gora, there is a hill Sabotin, which is perforated with caverns. There is a Park miru (Peace park) as a reminiscent of events during the First World War. Between two hills flows Soča river, over which is placed at Solkan the railway bridge with the bigest stone arch in the world. Nova Gorica is only in a half an hour by car to the sea than the mountains.
