The company Zlati Grič on Škalce estate is engaged with grape and wine production, yet also offers a golf course, restaurant Grič and a viticultural manor.
The main activity of Zlati grič is producing grapes and wine. Beside that they also have a challenging nine hole golf course set amoungst the vines and hotel trade services in the wine shop. The company is based in Škalce, an idyllic countryside setting, that lies between the mountain Konjiško goro and Pohorje.
The grapes, from which we cultivate vintage wines, are growing on first-class viticultural positions, where a tradition of producing is more than eight hundred years old. We produce only quality wines,so the technology of producing grapes is based on the least possible weight of vines and on the environment kind producing.
The restaurant Vinotoč is settled in an old vineyard cottage, which is placed in the middle of vineyards close to the golf course. It has 100 seats in the restaurant and a further 100 more seats on the terrace.
Written sources of the French Order of Carthusian monks from Žička kartuzija (1164) date wine growing in Slovenske Konjice to more than eight hundred years ago. Santonino wrote that in the 15th century they had more wine in their cellars than the rest of the country put together. They had many of their vineyards situated in excellent positions in Škalce. In those same positions we produce grapes of selected wine varietals today.
The estate consists of 80 hectares. We produce only high quality wines,so the technology of producing grapes is based on the least possible weight of vines and on the environment kind producing. Vines are mosty growing on medium heavy sandy-clay soil, what is reflected in the nature of our wines. To our typ of wine also contribute also the local climate with a lot of sunny days and a mix of Alpine and Pannonian climate especially at the hillsides of Pohorje and Konjiška gora.
The production part of the company is enriched by the touristic offer, which includes guided visits of the cellar with a degustation, the culinary offer in the restaurant, the accommodation abilities in “Vinogradniški dvorec” (The Wine Growing Mansion), the golf playing at the golf course, which takes place entirely in between the vineyards, – so it is a treasure chest of adventures for gourmets. The guest has the feeling, that in this place the opposites encounter – the tradition and the present time, the motion and the order, the obscurity and the light…, but always in a manner, that gives the people energy and that persuades them to always return.
Only 800 metres from the centre of Slovenske Konjice and close to the golf course, between the vineyards in Škalce there is restaurant Zlati Grič. We offer hospitality and homeliness to individual guests, organized tourists, private parties, business men and women.
In the shadow under the spreading cherry tree, on the terrace of the restaurant Zlati grič the time stops for you at least for a moment with a view of our natural beauties – the vineyards of Škalce.
The rooms of the restaurant are appropriate for lectures and special societies also.
What can be more pleasant as to come to Zlati Grič, fasten together the beauty of the nature, the power of excited soul with playing golf, that all make wealthy culinary homeliness and excellent wines.
The restaurant has 200 seats:
– 20 in Martin’s room
– 80 in panoramic room, where is a wonderfull view to the vineyards, centre of the town and golf course
– 100 on the terrace
– also the children have their carefree space for playing on the grass close to the restaurant.
You are invited in the middle of Dravinjska valley to taste excellent wines form the wine cellar of Zlati grič under the lead of sommelier. You are going to taste wines, which were high estimated. You have also a chance to buy wines at attractive prices.
The golf course lies in idyllic surroundings between vineyards in Škalce, next to the town Slovenske Konjice. It is naturally stirred up and entirely rounded up with vineyards. Playing fields are variegated with a brook, which flows in the middle of the golf course, watar hazards, wood and shrubbery.
The golf course has 9 holes with a coomon length 2500 m and it has a pair 35. The ground is pleasant for the game, but it requires precise hits. Power and length are not important by playing, but first of all the thoughtfulness and a high degree of concentration.
The golf course is open from March to November. In the range of our activities we have arranged also the training golf course, where we organize golf instructions, continuation courses for children and young people and invidual learning hours. In the reception of the golf course it is possible to buy topmost wines at discount prices.
Our activity is supplemented by producing (growing) apples, and also with an agricultural technology store, mostly for winegrowers and fruit growers and with an offer of decorative plants.
