Simply Cycling Slovenia is run by Paul Wadkin, an expat Living in Slovenia, so a tour/holiday with us will be personal to you! Unlike many cycling holidays through travel agencies all our tours are personalised to the people coming. We have many planned routes mapped out for either guided or unguided. But that’s not to say we can’t create different routes specially for you, let us know what you’d like to do and we’ll tailor make the perfect holiday.
SCS cycling holidays cater for all ages and abilities, families, single parent families, adult only, groups, couples and singles. Our holidays take care of everything, leaving you free to relax and enjoy your day cycling at your own pace in the fresh air and sunshine.
SCS standard cycle routes are gentle but our guides show alternative routes for more experienced cyclists, or for those who prefer a more challenging ride. Overnight you will enjoy the hospitality and cuisine of carefully selected guest accommodation reflecting the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Region.
SCS cycling holidays also tailor custom packages for those seeking a greater challenge or wishing to take part in the highly challenging regional cycling competitions or in charity events.
Our cycling holidays and cycle tours are based around Ljutomer in the Pomurje region of north-east Slovenia and focus on enjoying the beautiful landscape and villages of Pomurje and neighbouring southern Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Our holidays are flexible and are tailored for most ages and abilities, families, single parent families, adult only, groups, couples and singles.

7 Night excursion holidays
Our excursion holiday can be based at or near one or two of the delightful Spa resorts or guest houses of the region. Each day you have the choice to set out on a different route that is as challenging or relaxing as you choose. This will appeal to the more experienced riders especially those seeking a degree of physical challenge. For groups such as a cycle touring club we can custom build an itinerary and yes, although we have a good selection of quality bikes, you are welcome to bring your own bikes on all our holidays!
On tour, each night will be spent in a different location staying in top quality guest houses, Tourist Farms and Thermal Spas which combine character and ambience with comfortable en-suite rooms. A full continental style breakfast is served in the morning. An evening meal is included only on day 1 and 7 as many riders said that they would like to have the flexibility of taking a lunch or evening meal of their choice en route.
Slovenian guest houses are renowned for their very high standards of cleanliness and hospitality and all accommodation is inspected and approved to the very high standards set by the local Tourist Boards.
We have a range of top quality bicycles to suit men, ladies and children.
Helmets are not yet compulsory in Slovenia, Austria, Croatia or Hungary. However, this may change and we strongly recommend their use, especially for children. Helmets are provided as part of the package.
It is very important to us that you are happy and comfortable with your bicycle, so we select and adjust it to be right for you.
Your bicycle ‘fitting’ and initial adjustment will take place on arrival so that your bicycle will be at your accommodation ready to ride off the next morning. Included in the package is a handlebar bag to carry money, documents, cameras, etc. This bag can be easily removed, should you wish to take it with you into a shop or restaurant for example. We advise that you bring a small rucksack to put in spare clothes or other larger items that you may need for the day.
Child seats can be provided for the back of adult and trailer bicycles, but these must be requested in advance.
All bicycles come with pump, spare inner tube, water bottle, bicycle lock and basic toolkit. Items such as lights or toe clips are available on request.
Electric Bikes Available!
It’s very important to us that we can cater for everyone, we therefore have a couple of electric bikes available to take the worry out of things. Ask us about out electric bikes which are capable of up to 100km on a single charge! Don’t get left behind!
