Restaurant Stari Tišler, known for authentic home recipes of Slovenian origin. Its roots go back in the year 1905, the original name of “Stari Tišler” has been maintained to the present day. Attractive location in the center of Ljubljana and close to the bus and railway stations in addition to regular guests attracted a lot of tourists and travelers who want to taste a wide selection of dishes from the Slovenian cuisine.
The Stari Tišler in the downtown of preserving tradition Slovenian home cooking, which is complemented by a diverse range of la’carte food, so to satisfy all tastes. In the cozy rustic atmosphere you can relax with good food, enjoy the summer in the garden in the atrium of the restaurant.

Our capacity is up to 60 guests and with flexible layout tables we can satisfy all your desires.
Daily meal you can choose from a wide range of snacks and lunches. A la carte dishes you through the day and in the evening choose from the menus or the seasonal dishes you can reach salads from the salad bar. Our specialty dishes are “spoon” – goulash, beef goulash, tripe, stew, home cheese dumplings,buckwheat ravioli, rustic plate,buckwheat with carrots, leek and spice pork sausage, foal steak in cranberry sauce with home made cheese dumplings, veal steak – kolodvor, ….
In a pleasant home environment you will be pampered with premium wines. For larger groups, we have prepared special menus that are served at tables or cold – hot buffet, but certainly we will the first listen guest wishes.
More than 150 years ago, the inn Stari Tišler was a coachman post and the coachmen stopped here to fill up their stomachs with delicious food and take a rest from their journeys. This tradition is still being carried on today as we are offering lovely and in 2012 entirely renovated rooms to our guests.
Stari Tišler offers guests 8 rooms – each room has a LCD-TV, cable TV-programs, free wireless internet access and an air-conditioner. All rooms also have their own bathroom with a shower.
Each room is decorated in a special way – because there are only eight of them, we decided to present a different piece of Slovenia in every room. Therefore all the rooms are named after special regions of Slovenia. For example: Dolenjka, Gorenjka, Primorka, Prekmurka, Meščanka, Štajerka, Soča and Kras.
